I'd Rather Die. Three on One Chair

Nero Wolfe, a passionate orchid collector, a great gourmet, a beer lover, and a brilliant detective, hardly ever leaves his home. He solves all crimes based on the facts collected by Archie Goodwin, his charming, ironic assistant with an excellent... memory. A businessman from Omaha turns to Nero Wolfe with a request to find his son, whom he once erroneously accused of theft. The son, in retaliation, severed all ties with the family, changed his name, and moved to New York. The only unreliable thread that could help in the search is a birthday card sent by the missing son to his sister. The search leads to success, and everything would be fine if it weren't for one "but": the missing man is found in a jail cell, where he is being held on charges of murder. A new task arises for Nero Wolfe - to prove his innocence ("I'd Rather Die"). The stories that make up the collection "Three on One Chair" again demonstrate to the reader how brilliantly the great detective solves the most tangled and seemingly hopeless cases.
