The Prince

Niccolò Machiavelli dedicated a part of his life to public service. His experience and observations of the methods used by politicians became the foundation of the treatise "The Prince," known today all over the world. In it, Machiavelli advocated for strong authority, allowing for cunning, betrayal, and violence in order to strengthen it. Of course, this sparked controversial opinions, and the Catholic Church placed his work on the list of forbidden books. Nevertheless, the ideas of this historian and philosopher regarding management methods, ways of gaining power, and the qualities a ruler should possess, as well as what determines the success of the reforms he implements, have found application in politics and remain relevant to this day. The book also includes the work "On Military Art," in which the author, not being a military man and acquiring his knowledge through theory, expressed such profound ideas that they encompassed various aspects of human life.
