Captain Marvel

Shazam! This mighty champion of justice certainly needs no introduction! The famous son of Superman's mom's friend, whose success drove the DC management crazy! The fame of Captain Marvel was so unsettling for them that DC bombarded the Fawcett publishing house (which originally published comics about C.M.) with lawsuits for years! In the end, DC did manage to bring Captain Marvel into its fold, leaving us to be satisfied with the wonderful original Fawcett comics about the strongest man on Earth!

This issue includes three stories from different periods of the character: the first appearance shortly before World War II, the developed image in the midst of the war, and the decline of the captain during the Fawcett era in the early fifties.
