The Iron Heel

Jack London's (1876-1916) novel «The Iron Heel» is considered the earliest of modern dystopian fiction. The author's vision of the future turned out to be
terrifyingly prophetic in terms of the violence and fascism that flourished in the first half of the 20th century.
The novel describes the fall of the United States before the brutal fascist dictatorship of the «Iron Heel» - a group of monopoly capitalists. Fearing
the popularity of socialism, the plutocrats of the «Iron Heel» plot to destroy democracy and terrorize citizens with the help of their secret police and armed forces.
