The Secret Garden. Home Reading with Tasks according to the New Curriculum

The book is an adaptation of one of the best works by the famous Anglo-American children's writer Frances Hodgson Burnett, "The Secret Garden", about a girl named Mary Lennox, who becomes an orphan at a young age and, by fate's... will, ends up in her uncle-guardian's estate, where she one day discovers an abandoned garden. She starts taking care of the garden, and as it blooms and scents in response to her care, Mary also "blooms" and "comes to life". From a sickly, selfish, and spoiled child, she transforms into a healthy, kind, and responsive girl. This novel about self-healing is considered one of the most popular children's novels in 20th-century literature.
The text of the manual is adapted for educational purposes to the Elementary level. Each chapter is accompanied by a commentary, translation of difficult words and expressions, as well as tasks in accordance with the requirements of the OGE. They are aimed not only at checking text comprehension but also at practicing vocabulary, grammar, and developing reading skills. The exercises help to form and develop the communicative competencies necessary for successfully passing the final exam in the 9th grade.
At the end of the manual, answers to all tasks, an Anglo-Russian dictionary, and a test in the OGE format with answers are provided.
The book is intended for students of 5th to 9th grades in educational organizations, as well as for a wide audience studying the English language.
