Ever since Esther Solar's grandfather was cursed by Death itself, every member of the Solar family has a fear from which they are destined to die. Esther's father suffers from agoraphobia and hasn't left the basement for six years, her... twin brother cannot be in the dark, and her mother is terribly afraid of bad luck. One day, a former classmate from elementary school, Jonah Smallwood, appears in the girl’s life and steals her phone, money, a roll of fruit paste, and… that very list of nightmares! Now all of Esther's things are 'in captivity' of Jonah, but the strangest thing is that he himself offers to meet with her again.
