The Living Word. The Bible About Our Joys and Sorrows. Andrei Tkachev

How to let the Holy Scripture into our everyday reality? How to learn to read it thoughtfully, analyze, and understand? The book "The Living Word. The Bible About Our Joys and Sorrows" is a collection of conversations on selected parts of the Old Testament. The conversations are engaging, non-boring, and instructive - in the best traditions of Father Andrei's sermons. Conversing with the reader, the experienced pastor extends a hand, provides a compass, a map, and sometimes a navigator, with which one can accurately navigate through the most important, significant turns on the challenging path of understanding the Bible.

Father Andrei Tkachev makes the heroes of the Old Testament close and tangible for us, living many thousands of years later. The Psalms, the Book of Job, the Song of Songs of King Solomon - according to Father Andrei, - are by no means just a collection of stories about long-past events, nor the history of the Jewish people, but an encyclopedia of life for every person and a Book that must be returned to our lives in order to remain human.
