Vasily Terkhin

«Vasily Terkhin» - the magnum opus of Tvardovsky, his «business card». In Russian poetry, this is one of the most remarkable works dedicated to the image of a truly «folk» hero - the Russian soldier, fearless, kind-hearted, and never despondent. But a completely different tone resonates in the bitterly ironic «Terkhin in the other world» and in the autobiographical «By right of memory», - poems that brand with a hot iron the nightmare of Stalinism and were banned during the author's lifetime.

The collection also includes poems from different years - predominantly the later lyrics of Tvardovsky, his reflection on life and creative path.
