Alice's Adventures

Most readers know about the adventures of Alice Selezneva in space from the animated film released in 1981, «The Mystery of the Third Planet». Three years later, its main heroine appeared in the film «A Guest from the Future». This character, along with the heroes surrounding her, was created by the orientalist Igor Vsevolodovich Mozheiko, who signed most of his science fiction works under the pseudonym Kir Bulychev. By the end of the 20th century, Mozheiko had become one of the most popular science fiction writers in our country. In 1962, he graduated from postgraduate studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies, where he began working as a researcher. At the same time, the life of the science fiction writer Bulychev began, who turned out to be incredibly prolific. Hundreds of stories, novellas, and novels came from his pen. There were also translations of foreign science fiction — by more than two dozen authors. The collected works of Kir Bulychev released in the early 21st century amounted to 18 volumes! An important place in them is occupied by the cycle dedicated to the adventures of Alice; the first novellas about her, which are considered the most well-known among Bulychev's other works, are included in this edition.
