Fabian Risk decides to temporarily step away from work to spend time with his family, who are going through difficult times. However, he is still haunted by the mysterious suicide of his colleague, Hugo Elvin; the inspector is convinced that his friend was conducting an investigation that touched upon the interests of high-ranking police officials.
