The History of the Pugachev Rebellion

From 1833 to 1834, A.S. Pushkin worked on "The History of the Pugachev Rebellion" and utilized all available sources, as well as authentic materials from the closed archive of the General Staff – with the personal permission of the Minister of War.
The result was a comprehensive study of the bloody uprising that shook the Russian Empire during the "golden age" of Catherine II. This edition also includes oral stories, legends, and folk songs about Pugachev, recorded personally by Pushkin at the sites of the events, along with his comments and notes, as well as an article in "Sovremennik" – a response to a hostile critical review.
