Anya and Manya are very different, both in appearance and character. But this does not prevent them from being friends. They attend the same kindergarten and together learn a lot about the surrounding world. For example, how is an anthill structured? Are numbers infinite? What do hedgehogs eat in the forest? Why is the moon sometimes round and sometimes half? During the days the kindergarten spends at the dacha, extraordinary events occur: Anya and Manya meet a huge talking Hedgehog, learn the story of the old Wardrobe, fly under the light of the Moon, and argue about whether there are sandy-colored cows.

The book "Anya and Manya" was written by Elena Sergeyevna Venttsel - a writer and mathematician, author of textbooks on probability theory. Her literary pseudonym - I. Grekova - was taken in honor of the name of the 25th letter of the Latin alphabet "y", which in mathematics is used to denote an unknown or variable quantity, as well as the ordinate axis.
