Wolf and Spice. Volume 9. Ranobe

In search of information about the wolf bone, Lawrence and Holo arrive in the port city of Kelfe. With a letter of recommendation from Abe, Lawrence visits the trading house "Jin", connected to the Debau trading house, from where rumors originate. However, Reynolds - the head of "Jin" - clearly thinks the story about the wolf bone is nonsense. In the delta, Lawrence accidentally meets Abe and learns that the moguls of the northern shore are forcing her to deal with an unresolved land rights issue; moreover, they constantly take all the profits from Reynolds. Lawrence suspects that Reynolds is currently looking for the wolf bone, so the wandering merchant tries to gather information about it from one of the leaders of the Rowen trading guild - Kyman. However, everything turns upside down when Kyman puts Lawrence in a dilemma: guild or Abe. Meanwhile, a legendary sea monster - a narwhal - appears in the city. Abe invites Lawrence to his place, suggesting they betray the landowners of the north together and steal the captured beast. Lawrence is confused, and just then he receives a letter from Kyman...
