James Oliver Curwood (1878 – 1927) – American writer, journalist, environmentalist, author of adventure literature.
An avid hunter, naturalist, and traveler, Curwood wandered through the remote areas of Northern Canada, knowing and loving this harsh land well. The main characters of his novels are wild animals in the wild – wolves, dogs, bears, and more.
