Wanderers of the North. In the Thickets of the North

James Oliver Curwood (1878 – 1927) – American writer, journalist, environmentalist, author of adventure literature.
An avid hunter, naturalist, and traveler, Curwood wandered through the remote areas of Northern Canada, knowing and loving this harsh land well. His best works are devoted to the nature of Canada and the lives of the four-legged inhabitants of the Canadian North. The main characters of his novels are wild animals in the wild – wolves, dogs, bears, and more.
The little black bear cub Neewa and the puppy Miki – the heroes of the story «Wanderers of the North» (1919) – find themselves alone with the harsh northern nature from a young age. Will the little friends in misfortune survive, will they find support and protection from humans, will they overcome all the challenges that have befallen them?
The book also includes the novel «In the Thickets of the North» (1922).
