Children of Lieutenant Schmidt Bridge

The sixth book of short stories by Eduard Kocherzhin - the chief artist of the G. A. Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater - develops the main themes of his work, outlined in the first, now-famous collection - "Angel's Doll".
"Children of Lieutenant Schmidt Bridge" consists of stories about the everyday lives of the students of the Secondary Art School (SAS) at the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad, many of whom became wonderful masters of painting, graphics, sculpture, architecture, and art studies. The author of the book studied at this legendary "drawing bursary" at the Academy of Arts in the 1950s. In those difficult post-war years, the SAS preserved the best traditions of classical drawing and a high level of humanitarian education.
Memorable stories from the lives of SАS students, partially published in other collections by Kocherzhin, are gathered together in this book and significantly expanded, as well as supplemented with a unique illustrative appendix. All photographs in the book are published for the first time.
