The book contains a variety of works by Academician Pavlov – including those that were ideologically banned not only during the life of the great scientist but also until the very fall of the USSR. The reflex of freedom, he wrote, is one of the most important innate reflexes. Without it, any slightest obstacle encountered by the animal on its path would completely interrupt the course of its life. And we know well how all animals deprived of normal freedom strive to be liberated. And people, as is known, are rational, yet still animals.
