Lu! Nonsensical Diary

"Lou! The Silly Diary" is the first volume of the super popular series of illustrated stories in France about 12-year-old girl Lou and her mother. The books about Lou have been published in different countries around the world for 15 years, with 8 volumes of the comic having a total circulation of over three million copies! These stories have also become an animated series and a movie (with Ludivine Sagnier, a star of French cinema, playing the role of the mother). All thanks to the fact that children, teenagers, and adults can see themselves in the comic's characters!

"I wanted to create a comic about a regular girl so that my daughter, as she grows up, can recognize herself in it," says Julien Neel, the author of these stories. And now, we can finally read these stories about growing up, family, and friendship, filled with the events of a teenager's everyday life in Russian!
In the first book, Lou is twelve, and she is head over heels in love, but one day she discovers that her chosen one... is picking his nose! While Lou is healing her broken heart, Mom is engrossed in computer games instead of writing the long-planned novel. Meanwhile, a very nice neighbor moves into their home...
Julien Neel
Julien Neel began working in the graphics and advertising industry; he illustrated for online resources, video games, and comic magazines. But in 2004, his first comic story about Lou was published. It won an award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Then it turned into a comic series and later an animated series shown on the French Disney channel. In 2013, Julien Neel himself became the director of the film series based on the comic books.
Currently, Julien Neel continues to work as a graphic designer and often appears and signs autographs for fans of the Lou series.
