It Can't Be Cured

Seventeen-year-old Anya lives in Kirov in her own special world. She knows the Ozhogov dictionary by heart and fills her days with numerous strange rituals. Words are as alive to her as people, and she feels a deep pain for her loved ones in a literal sense. The girl does not immediately realize that she has obsessive-compulsive disorder, and then learns to live with this understanding. This is a coming-of-age story and a moral development, as if the hero of “Bury Me Behind the Baseboard” were a seventeen-year-old girl. A story of friendship and a sense of responsibility for herself and those around her.
