Critical Theory.

Critical theory questions many, if not all, familiar social and aesthetic notions. Drawing resources from the works of Marx and Freud, but reinterpreting them in ways that the founders themselves would hardly recognize, critical theory demonstrates how concepts such as... "human," "society," and "culture" emerged during the development of structures and relationships, revealing that everything we perceive as eternal is a construction. In its struggle against oppression and injustice in various countries, critical theory has not lost the ability to debate—this course allocates just as much space to disputes and disagreements as to the exposition of ideas and discoveries. Special attention in the course is paid to sociology, aesthetics, and media theory.
