In the Shadow of the Throne

The new novel by Vasily Zubakin is about love. Its main characters are Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich Romanov and British King Edward VIII. They sat on the thrones of their states for a short time, but each entered history by going against their royal dynasty for the sake of love, against traditions and prejudices. At the same time, the author attempts to rewrite history in his own way. The plot swiftly carries the characters of the book from Windsor Castle to a hermitage in the taiga, from the Azure Coast to battlefields, from Gatchina to Paris, and from the Karakum Desert to the Alps. Following the characters are the intelligence agencies of many countries, but at every turn of fate, love and honor, loyalty and nobility save the characters of the book.
