A City Without War

An alternative world, similar to ours at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The unnamed city where the novel takes place could be located anywhere on the map of our country, and the atmosphere somewhat resembles a familiar... past — but what events in its history have desolated entire neighborhoods and forced it to be surrounded by barbed wire? A world after the war, shown through the eyes of a cadet school student. This is an excellent educational institution that trains real officers prepared to die for their best city in the world and for its Head. But 15-year-old Sashka is expelled from the Corps on charges of betrayal. To earn some money, he becomes a stormtrooper-mercenary doing the dirtiest jobs — and he uncovers the harsh truth about the City.
