Jack London is one of the most popular American writers, whose works, full of exciting adventures and harsh romance, are read all over the world. The novel "Moon Valley" (1913) is somewhat unusual: it is written in the genre of... utopia and is dedicated by the author to his wife. It is a hymn to love and the human spirit. The main characters of the novel are young spouses Bill and Saxon Roberts. They love each other, but they have to overcome many hardships - need, hunger, the death of a child - before finally finding family happiness. They wander for about two years to find their "promised land" - the place where they will build their home and start a new life. Bill and Saxon's dreams of some ideal place seem unattainable to many, for it can only be found on the Moon. But one day dreams come true: the spouses finally find what they were looking for, and by an astonishing coincidence, the area is called Moon Valley...
