The New Dark Ages

James Bridle, born in 1980, is a British publicist, avant-garde artist, and expert in computer technologies. The main theme of his research is the influence of new technologies on human thinking, culture, and daily life. Computer technologies have completely transformed the existence and space in which modern humans live. James Bridle attempted to examine the changes that have occurred and drew an unusual map of this new space, indicating the pitfalls and traps that await us in this beautiful civilized world. Overabundance and, as a consequence, lack of information, the desire to consider everyone's interests and, as a consequence, neglect of the interests of the majority, incredible structures on the verge of fantasy and simultaneously with this, the terrifying vulnerability of these structures, universal access to education and at the same time the prevalence of simplified narratives, total lies and obscurantism – all of this we already face on the brink of new dark ages. In which direction will we move next?
