Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) – an English writer who devoted himself to virtually all literary genres, but is best known as the author of detective, historical-adventure, and fantastical works. And, of course, as the creator of the famous duo – Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The books about the brilliant detective and his simple-minded partner have been translated into almost all languages of the world, and Holmes and Watson have become the heroes of countless literary imitations, adaptations, and theatrical productions. More than a hundred years have passed since the first story was published, yet readers around the world still eagerly immerse themselves in the fascinating dangerous adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his devoted friend, in the world of foggy London streets, sinister marshes, and heather moors. In the famous novella "A Study in Scarlet" – the first work of the "Sherlockiana" – Sherlock Holmes investigates a mysterious murder in an old house, in the ominous "The Sign of the Four" he helps an orphaned young lady seek justice, in the story "The Silver" – ... but anyway, read "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" and enjoy.
