The cheerleading squad of Shadyside has always been considered one of the strongest. Gretchen Paige, a newcomer to Shadyside High, is determined to join the team. There is just one problem in her way — the rich, spoiled Devra Dalby, who is also trying to take the open spot in the group. Their rivalry ends in murder. Will Gretchen be able to join the group, or will she have to die young?
