Pamela Butchart is a Scottish children's author and a philosophy teacher at a secondary school. She has a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Dundee and became a philosophy teacher at Harris Academy in Dundee. The author began writing children's books after her fiancé gave her a book on how to write for children.
Pamela Butchart is a winner of the Blue Peter Book Award in the «Best Story Book» category in 2015.
In 2016, for the book «An Alien Possessed My Teacher!» the author received the Red House Children’s Book Award in the «Young Readers» category and became the overall winner of that competition.
