Star of the Seas

1847, the Great Famine in Ireland. Hundreds of thousands of people are dying, tenants are evicted from land for non-payment, desperate peasants take revenge on landowners. Those who manage to scrape together any amount try to escape abroad, to America... or Canada. On one of those ships — the "Star of the Seas" — completely different people converge. The aristocratic family of David Merridith, their nanny Mary, the unfortunate cripple Malvy, who has been ordered to kill David, and American journalist Dixon. It turns out that the fates of these fellow travelers are closely intertwined, and the dramatic finale of their journey is completely unexpected.
