Praetorians

The Praetorians are the guard of the Roman Caesars, who can elevate anyone to the throne of the Roman Empire by their own power. Just pay. In 193 AD, after the assassination of Commodus, the place of the emperor goes... to Publius Helvius Pertinax, the son of a freedman. Despite the fact that Pertinax owes the Praetorians half of the money promised for their support, he is convinced that he will remain emperor for a long time. Pertinax does not want to believe that the Praetorians, accustomed under Commodus to a life of debauchery, permissiveness, and frequent gifts, are already looking for a reason to rebel. Yet, the Praetorians cannot be called mere merchants pretending to be warriors. They are capable of bold and desperate acts, they are not foreign to nobility, and some are driven not by a thirst for profit, but by selfless love for a woman.
