The sensational Fight Club by American writer Chuck Palahniuk began as a short story, which ultimately became the sixth chapter of a powerful cult work published at the end of the 20th century. The novel had the impact of a... bombshell. The cynical text was instantly fragmented into quotes, and three years later, the film of the same name was released, still regarded as one of the best films that caused a significant public resonance. Literary critics interpret the themes of the novel in various ways: there is nihilism, religious motifs, games of the mind, criticism of consumer society, and a story of romantic relationships. But as the author himself states, his hero is simply a lonely person seeking ways to connect with those around him, to be understood, accepted, and loved.
