In the stiff and respectable England of the late 19th century, amazing things begin to happen. Children disappear, people have bites on their necks, animals behave strangely, and corpses leave their final resting places… The culprit of all these events is Count Dracula, who left his Transylvanian castle and settled in London.
The depictions of his crimes are not striking in scale of evil and gruesome details, but the feeling of true Gothic horror will not leave even the most experienced modern reader indifferent. The author skillfully heightens the atmosphere of hopelessness, incomprehensibility, and primal fear, creating a classic example of a vampire saga.
