Aesop's Fables. They have been torn into quotes and aphorisms for centuries, many phrases from them have become proverbs and sayings, – a guilty conscience, while Vasya listens and eats, and the box just opened. We have long been using elephant and Moska, Trishkin's coat or Demyan's ear, without even thinking about the literary source of these winged expressions, – and yet all of them came to light thanks to the remarkable wit of Krylov – the greatest of Russian fabulists.
