Omon Ra

«Omon Ra» — the first novel by Viktor Pelevin, written in 1991. About the secrets of Soviet astronautics and the «secret» astronauts. Soviet cosmonauts are being prepared for a flight to the Moon. One of them — Omon Krivomazov, call sign Ra — named after the Egyptian god — firmly believes in the mission of science, but he is about to learn that everything is a bit different than he thought. Space flights actually take place somewhere underground in Moscow. The novel has received two prestigious awards: «Interpresskon» and «Bronze Snail». The novel is being reissued in the series «National Collection of Works by Viktor Pelevin», which has gained cult status over the past ten years and has become a bibliophilic rarity.
