Death Comes with a Tomato

This is a completely realistic book, the stories of everyday life in the neurosurgery department of an oncology center intermingle with "live" conversations in the operating room, which the author - a neurophysiologist and specialist in intraoperative monitoring - has... been hearing for almost twenty years. The heroes are real - neurosurgeons, intensivists, nurses; the situations are real, the methods are real (there has not been a work of art about intraoperative monitoring in domestic literature before). More than real, unfortunately, are the diseases - predominantly brain tumors. The only feature that powerfully sweeps this book onto the shelf of fiction is that one of the characters is Death. Not an occurrence, but a being. And still, this character does not make the book implausible, because what could be more real in life than death? With such a character and in such a setting, the story should, in theory, be heavy, even tragic.
