Sigmund Freud. The famous psychiatrist and creator of the theory of psychoanalysis, whose name is known even to those who have never read his works. In his time, Sigmund Freud's idea of the influence of the sexual instinct on the... psyche and the development of human society had the effect of a bombshell. The theory of the unconscious, which influences all our actions and deeds, and of sexual attraction as the main driving force of an individual and society as a whole, continues to provoke debates in the scientific community; however, it is impossible to deny that Freud's teachings on psychoanalysis have made an invaluable contribution to the development of world psychology. In the work The Psychopathology of Everyday Life, Freud discusses the mental mechanism of forgetfulness. Why do well-known lines of poetry fall out of memory or get replaced by new ones? By what principle do neighbors' surnames and street names suddenly get replaced by similar-sounding ones? How do childhood memories replace similar memories?
