Frances Hodgson Burnett – an English writer who became famous for such works as "The Secret Garden", "Little Lord Fauntleroy", and "A Little Princess". After the parents of the main character of the novel – Mary Lennox – die of cholera, she is sent to the care of a distant uncle who lives in a huge mansion. Her life begins to change dramatically when she learns about the existence of a mysterious garden, securely hidden from human eyes. Together with newfound friends, she starts to take care of it and opens her heart to goodness and love. The text of the work is abridged and slightly adapted, provided with grammatical commentary and a dictionary that includes ALL words contained in the text.
