Conversations on the Sand. How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World

Tyson Yankaporta (born 1973), a representative of the Apalech clan, one of the Indigenous Australian groups, founded the Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lab at Deakin University in Melbourne. His book is an essay about the irreconcilable contradictions between rational and global Western worldviews, on one hand, and the traditional worldview, particularly that which is still upheld by Australian Indigenous peoples, on the other. As a person who has transitioned from the world of tradition to the world of globalization, trying not to undermine the foundations of thinking that he received at birth, Yankaporta attempts to understand Indigenous tradition as a way to look at globality from the outside.
