June 1941... the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. By July 5, one of the best operatives of the Soviet foreign intelligence, Major of State Security Pavel Anatolyevich Sudoplatov, received an order to prepare a Special Group under the NKVD for conducting sabotage and reconnaissance special operations behind enemy lines. Almost immediately, the formed group of Sudoplatov began their secret struggle. Until the victorious May of 1945, enemy trains carrying troops, ammunition, and fuel were derailed, communication and transportation lines were destroyed, industrial enterprises and warehouses were burned and blown up, and alongside this, brave heroes eliminated German generals, officers, and collaborators. More than 20 fighters, subordinate to the godfather of special units of Soviet intelligence P. A. Sudoplatov from a separate motorized rifle brigade of special designation of the NKVD of the USSR, the famous OMSBON, were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
The book tells the story of the creation of this unique special unit, whose task was resonant special operations capable of turning the tide of events on the front.
