Riterių šarvai Europoje. Universali muziejų kolekcijų apžvalga

The book is dedicated to the history of protective armor in medieval Europe. The author provides an overview of the development of protective military attire from 1066, when the era of chain mail was just beginning, to 1700, when knight armor took on a decorative character. The author closely traces the evolution of chain mail, helmets, plate armor, gauntlets, shoulder pieces, and other elements of knightly equipment, explains the significance of terms used by collectors, and gives an overview of the styles and schools of Italian, German, and French armorers. The text is accompanied by numerous photographs and drawings of samples of protective armor held in the largest museums in the world.
