"The Prince" is the most famous work of the Florentine statesman of the Renaissance, Niccolò Machiavelli (1469–1527), which brought him worldwide fame.
The book is essentially a universal guide on the science of ruling any form of government. In his fundamental work, Machiavelli describes and compares examples drawn from ancient history with his own observations of his era, and on this basis, he derives certain rules and laws of political life, offering practical advice to rulers (princes, dukes, kings).
The main principles of political philosophy formulated by Machiavelli over 500 years ago remain in demand today and will retain their relevance for many more years to come.
