Gustave Aimard was a French writer of the 19th century, recognized as a classic of the adventure genre. An adventurer by nature, he had extensive experience in sea voyages and dangerous expeditions to the countries of Africa, South and North America, which later found reflection in his novels.

The heroes face fierce battles, chases, kidnappings, betrayal, rescues from trouble, and even treasure hunts.
