This cheerful comedy about love in a remote logging village in the Urals not only captivated audiences across the Soviet Union but also won several prestigious awards at international film festivals. However, the story "The Girls" differs significantly from the famous film: the characters' personalities are explored more deeply, the harsh life in the distant village is portrayed much more realistically, and there are even significant differences in the plot.
