Dark Multiverse. Tales: Batman. The Fall of the Knight

In the DC universe, the Knightfall event represents one of the most significant milestones in Batman's history. In the original story "The Fall of the Knight," released in 1993, the villain Bane breaks the Dark Knight's back, forcing the hero... to temporarily retreat into the shadows. Batman seeks help from Jean-Paul Valley, known by the heroic name Azrael. While Wayne recovers from his injury, Valley becomes the protector of Gotham and the new Batman. He defeats Bane and begins to impose his own order on the city, acting very harshly and showing no mercy to opponents. Jean-Paul becomes so engrossed in his new role that the real Batman, ready to return to action, has to fight him to reclaim his right to protect the city. In that story, Batman triumphed, but the Dark Multiverse has its own laws, and its tales are brutal...
