The Wonderful Journey of Nils with the Wild Geese

Selma Lagerlöf (1858–1940) — a Swedish writer and recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1909). One of her most famous books — "The Wonderful Journey of Nils Holgersson Through Sweden" was originally conceived as a textbook on the geography of Sweden. The book has been translated into many languages, and in 1940 Soviet writers Zoya Zadonayoskaya and Alexandra Lyubarskaya retold this work, calling it "The Wonderful Journey of Nils with the Wild Geese." This story about a boy who traveled with a flock of geese is based on legends and folktales.
