The Victim of Suspect X

Keigo Higashino is the author of more than fifty novels, who has been popular in Japan for the past twenty years. Now, with each new work, he creates an event. At home, he has received all major literary awards and... honors, and many adaptations and film adaptations have been made based on his novels, bringing the dark atmosphere of his detective stories to the screen.
 
The novel "The Victim of Suspect X" became the author's first major success. In 2006, it won the Naoki Prize in the category of "Best Novel", as well as numerous Japanese and foreign awards. In 2008, its first film adaptation was released.
This time, the case that investigator Kusanagi brought to Professor Yukawa does not seem particularly unusual: a murder stemming from domestic issues, and there is a suspect. But every time the investigator and his friend seem to have come to an understanding of the situation, something doesn't add up. Gradually, the investigation takes on the features of an intellectual confrontation and leads the participants to an unexpected resolution.
