The Day I Learned to Live

Laurent Gounelle is among the top five most popular novelists in France. His new book is called "The Day I Learned to Live". Imagine that one fine day a fortune teller, looking at your palm, falls silent in fear. And only after persistent requests do you manage to get an answer from her. It sounds quite frightening: "You will die soon". For Jonathan, the hero of Gounelle's novel, the world changes completely. And although the doctors find no illnesses, he decides to spend several weeks among the mountains and hills by the ocean shore. For the first time, he is in no hurry. In search of answers to eternal questions about the meaning of life, Jonathan becomes reacquainted with himself. Meetings, wanderings, adventures, and self-discovery fundamentally change both his view of life and life itself...
This book sheds new light on our existence and our relationships with other people; it feels as if someone has opened a window and a fresh breeze has rushed into the stale atmosphere.
