Vika T.'s Notebook

«Vika T.'s Notebook» – is a collection of short stories about a girl named Vika, her grandmother, her mom and dad, the cat Timofey, the dog Groza, and others. Each story is a funny sketch from modern life on the theme of a particular folk saying or proverb.
What does Russian folklore have to do with it? Well, Vika and her grandmother Varvara are actually engaged in collecting Russian proverbs and sayings for all occasions. It turns out to be a very useful activity! Some people, for example, collect antique paintings, stamps, or coins, while others collect proverbs and sayings. Why not? After all, as the saying goes, proverbs are not traded in the market, yet everyone needs them! Why are they needed? Because they express our thoughts precisely and wittily, helping to convey their essence, enriching and decorating our language.
Unfortunately, many folk proverbs and sayings are gradually being forgotten, disappearing, and leaving our lives for good. Yet, wealth is meant to be accumulated and collected!
