Poems

Pushkin's literary reputation was largely shaped by the popularity of his poems, and each new poem became a subject of heated debate and a reason to discuss pressing issues in Russian literature. In 1835, the poet published a two-volume work titled «Poems and Tales of Alexander Pushkin», which included all the completed poems that received the highest approval. In this collection, the composition of Pushkin's lifetime edition is complemented by the poem «The Bronze Horseman», which was not passed by the «highest censorship».
