Writer Ann Gallagher has been enchanted by Ireland since childhood and takes pride in her Irish roots. The young American woman arrives in Ireland hoping to uncover the history of her own family, which harbors many mysteries and is closely intertwined with the most tragic pages of the Irish Revolution.

The search for details leads Ann to an incredible time shift. Ann finds herself in 1921 and is at the epicenter of the struggle for Irish independence. Doctor Thomas Smith, who saves her life, mistakes Ann for another woman and suspects her of espionage.
