The Day of the Triffids

One evening, the residents of London watched with interest an unusual phenomenon – a green meteor shower that illuminated the entire sky. In the morning, witnesses of the mysterious event woke up blind, and soon it became clear that almost the entire population of the Earth had lost their sight.
Great changes are coming to the world. The few who managed to retain their sight gain almost unlimited power and access to the resources accumulated by humanity. But trouble, as we know, does not come alone – and a third force comes into play: triffids, intelligent predatory plants capable of moving and hunting humans. The complex security system designed to contain these very valuable but extremely dangerous plants fails, and the triffids break free…
