Cleopatra. A Tale of the Collapse of Hopes and the Vengeance of the Descendant of Egyptian Pharaohs Garmakhis, Written by His Own Hand

A deep interest in ancient civilizations inspired Henry Rider Haggard to create an exciting novel about Ancient Egypt during the reign of Queen Cleopatra. Young Garmakhis - heir to the dynasty of pharaohs, is destined to free Egypt from the rule of the pro-Rome Ptolemies and restore its former glory. But for this, he will have to kill the ruling queen Cleopatra - a smart, authoritative, and extraordinarily beautiful woman, who evokes both hatred and admiration among the Egyptians. Garmakhis will plunge into a whirlpool of palace intrigues, demonstrating cunning and resourcefulness to get closer to his goal in a ruthless war for the throne. But will he be able to withstand the charms of the captivating Cleopatra himself?.. The book is illustrated with drawings by the artist Nina Krasnova Jr.
